Andry, a young mouse, climbed the hill and looked out toward Mossflower. The first thing he saw was a big stone abbey. Could that be the fabled Redwall Abbey? He decided to venture down. Crity, a vermin, was relishing his success and ate a few more candied chestnuts while the dibbuns looked on hungrily.
"Ungry little ones?" he cackled. With all the grown up's away from the abbey berry picking, it was easy to knock out the few grown-ups left and take control. He had a few more chestnuts.
Andry arrived at the gates of the abbey and was about to knock when he heard a muffled cry from the bushes. Peering in, he saw a mole, a mouse and an otter, tied together. They were the abbey's foremole and two others left to help him. After freeing them he quickly learned of what had happened to the abbey.
"I think know how to get us out of this." said Andry grinning.
Crity heard moving in the bushes. He looked out the window and saw his beasts fleeing. Something had scared them off, as the rustling moved closer, he saw a giant monster approaching! He held his ground....for about five second and then fled. The few vermin that were with him inside fled, and with them, the abbey was restored to peace. Foremole grunted and dropped the young otter and mouse to the ground. They all shook with laughter. By smearing themselves with berries and clibming on each other shoulders, they had scared the vermin off, the dibbuns, still hudling in a corner, were shaking but some were already running toward Foremole, laughing at his antics. When the rest of the abbey creatures returned and heard the story, they welcomed Andry into their home.
